Lady Rams sweep Northeast

LASKER – The Ridgecroft School Lady Rams beat Northeast Academy 3-0 here in a TIC volleyball match on Tuesday.

The Lady Rams powered their way to victory by scores of 25-17, 25-23, and 25-5.

The Ridgecroft junior varsity also won in straight sets, 2-0, by scores of 25-8 and 25-17.

Ridgecroft’s varsity won the first set by eight, 25-17.

In the second set, Mackenzie Brown and Reagan King both had seven straight service winners and the Rams would need all of them as Northeast made it close, but still fell to the visitors by two, 25-23.

The third set was almost a walkover as Sydney Lane posted six straight service winners and Ridgecroft won in a runaway, 25-5.

Tracy Hughes registered seven kills for the entire match.

Ridgecroft is 5-2 overall after dropping a match on Wednesday to Southampton, but remain 3-0 in the Tarheel Independent Conference. The Rams will play two more matches on the road next week: at Pungo on Tuesday at 5 p.m. in TIC action, and a non-conference match with Neuse Christian on Friday at 5:30.
