Ridgecroft sweeps four in conference

LASKER — The Ridgecroft varsity girls basketball team remained unbeaten in Tarheel Independent Conference play after getting a 45-21 win over Northeast Academy on the Eagles’ home floor.  Hennie Larabee scored 17 for the visiting Lady Rams who are now 8-2 and 4-0 in the TIC. Chelsea Rose’s 16 points led Northeast.

The Ridgecroft boys won their seventh of the season and are 3-1 in the TIC after they topped Northeast 49-44.  It was the Rams’ second win over the Eagles; the first coming in the Lt. Nick Brantley Scholarship Tournament nearly two weeks ago. Landon Larabee’s 19 points for Ridgecroft led all scorers. A trio of Eagles scored in double figures: 11 apiece for Christian Fleetwood and Trey Futrell while Cody Hurdle had 10.

In junior varsity action, Ruthie Daniels had 16 points for Ridgecroft in a 50-11 win; and the Ridgecroft boys jayvee made it four-for-four as they downed the host Eagles, 35-13.

GREAT LASKER SHOOTOUT

NortheastAcademy will host its annual Great Lasker Shootout Friday and Saturday. Four teams will participate in eight games in the two-day event.

The shootout begins at 4 p.m. Friday when the Hobgood Academy girls take on Bethel Assembly Christian Academy. At 5:30 p.m. the Northeast girls will take on The Eastern Association of Christian HomeSchoolers (TEACH). At 7 p.m. the Hobgood varsity boys will play Bethel Chrisitan, followed by the Eagles boys versus TEACH at around 8:30.
