AHOSKIE – Ridgecroft battled back late, but it wasn’t enough.

The Rams fell behind 8-1 to Wayne Country Day School here Tuesday and rallied over the last two innings, but fell 8-4.

“We have a young team, but we are not going to make excuses,” second-year Ridgecroft baseball boss Brandon Hodges said. “We are just going to continue to make adjustments and work hard.”

Nathan Pearce led the Rams with a 3-for-3 day at the plate including a homerun and a double as well as two RBIs and a pair of runs scored.

Austin Britton was 1-for-3 with a run scored and Chase Colson finished 1-for-2.

The loss dropped the Rams to 0-3 for the young season.
