Lady Rams sweep PCA

BELHAVEN – Ridgecroft School’s girls swept a pair of Tarheel Independent Conference games here last week.

The Lady Rams’ varsity girls topped Pungo Christian Academy 51-38 while the JV version of Ridgecroft’s ladies won 28-16 against the same team.

In the varsity matchup, Ridgecroft outscored Pungo in every quarter to take the win. The Lady Rams led 10-6 after one quarter and 24-16 at the intermission. They held a 37-23 lead after three quarters.

Brice Harrison was the catalyst for the Lady Rams offensively with 14 points while Hennie Larabee had 13 points during the contest. Miller Bryant and Lauren Colson added 10 points each.  Sara Hackney had six.

Allison Armstrong paced the Lady Raiders with 10 points while Jenna Sadler and Courtney Armstrong had eight points each. Hannah Mutschter and Karissa Cahoon had four points each.

In the jayvee contest, Ridgecroft led 7-1 after one quarter and held a 15-5 advantage at the intermission.

Mary-joe Harrell led Ridgecroft with 17 points while Katie Blowe chipped in four. Emily Grace (3) and Erin Cooke (2) rounded out the scoring.

Miranda Daughtry led Pungo with seven points.
