Bethel wins 10th

ASKEWVILLE – It was all double digits here Tuesday night.
Kelsie Conner contributed 18 points and 10 rebounds in a double-double performance as Bethel Christian Academy secured win number 10 of the 2010-11 season.
The Lady Eagles defeated visiting Terra Ceia Christian School by a final count of 40-37 in a non-conference affair, despite playing without center Jessica Howerton, who is injured.
The Lady Knights grabbed the early lead in the contest as they claimed an 11-9 advantage after one quarter.
Bethel, however, controlled the second quarter, going on an 11-6 run to lead 20-17 at the intermission. They pushed the lead to seven (32-25) after three quarters and then held off a Terra Ceia rally for the win.
In addition to the solid night from Conner, the Eagles got 10 points, six assists and a pair of steals from Elizabeth Farmer as well as four points and eight rebounds from Alyssa Fairless.
Kristen Adams added three points to go with four rebounds, one assist and a steal and Charitee Dunlow had six rebounds, two points, a steal and an assist.
The win boosted the Lady Eagles to 10-2 for the season. They will be back in action tonight (Thursday) as they welcome Calvary Baptist Church School.
