AHOSKIE – Ridgecroft rolled to the finals of its own tournament here Friday.

The Rams blasted 2-A Rocky Mount Academy 8-2 at the Mike Bryant Soccer Field to earn a trip to the finals where they defeated Shannon Forest Christian School.

Senior Michael Byrum led the way for the Rams with four goals on the afternoon to go along with one assist. Aaron Rock added a pair of goals as well. He also provided one assist.

Ryan Beggs chipped in one goal during the outing while adding two assists and Dre Chrysostomou added a goal during the semifinal event.

South Moore was credited with a pair of assists.

“It’s the best I’ve seen us play in a while,” Rams’ Head Coach Aron Martin said. “I think we were a little lethargic in the second half, but overall, I was pleased with the effort.”

The Rams were 2-0 after the win.
