FAYETTEVILLE – Ridgecroft School got its soccer season started on the right foot.

The Rams travelled to Fayetteville Christian School Monday and walked away with a 7-1 victory over the 2-A squad.

Aaron Rock led the Rams as he recorded a hat trick and also contributed a pair of assists on the afternoon.

Senior Michael Byrum added a pair of goals for the Rams while Austin Britton and Ryan Beggs recorded one goal each. Beggs added an assist.

Ridgecroft Head Soccer Coach Aron Martin said he was also pleased with the play of newcomer Drey Chrysostomou.

The coach was also complimentary of the play of defenders Britton and Nathan Pearce.

“We played well, especially considering the heat,” Martin said. “I was pleased with our team work, but we still have a lot of work to do.

“I’m pleased with the result but there’s still a lot to do,” he added. “It’s a marathon, not a sprint.”

The Rams are 1-0 following the non-league win.
