Ridgecroft ladies sweep

TERRA CEIA – Ridgecroft School came away with a pair of girl’s basketball wins here earlier this week.

The Lady Rams varsity team knocked off Terra Ceia Christian School 44-26 to earn their eighth conference victory.

Ridgecroft held only a slight 9-6 lead after one quarter, but upped the advantage to 17-10 by the intermission. They increased the lead to 29-14 by the end of the third and then pulled off the victory.

Hennie Larabee and Lauren Colson each scored 18 points to lead the Lady Rams. Mary-joe Harrell added six points and Amber Bracy had two points.

Miller Bryant played only one minute during the contest as she still nurses an elbow injury.

Taylor Newman led Terra Ceia with 12 points.

The victory upped Ridgecroft’s record to 15-7 overall and 8-3 in the league.

In jayvee action, Ridgecroft grabbed a 27-13 win.

The teams were tied at 2-all after one quarter, but the Lady Rams scored nine in the second period while holding the Knights to only two as they led 11-4 at the intermission.

The Knights battled back to win the third quarter 9-8, but Ridgecroft held them scoreless in the fourth to secure the win.

Emily Grace paced Ridgecroft with 14 points while Ruthie Daniels chipped in six. Bailey Vann added three points and Kathryn Outlaw had two points.

Caitlin Griffin led Terra Ceia with eight points.
