AHOSKIE – It wasn’t broke, so we didn’t fix it….rather, we just made it better than ever.

The website operated by Roanoke-Chowan Publications (www.r-cnews.com) has undergone a facelift and that new look is now ready for the public to enjoy.

Over the past several months, RCP staff, working hand-in-hand with our parent company Boone Newspapers, has developed ideas in an effort to improve the appearance and digital delivery of local news, sports and lifestyles at www.r-cnews.com. That work was exhaustive, but the end result was satisfying and we hope you will find it pleasing and more “easy on the eye.”

We have not steered away from the local stories that we share on a daily basis with our readers. The difference comes in the visual presentation, which includes more photographs.

While we welcome you to scroll through the entire website, we do realize that those seeking the digital versions of our printed stories are often doing so with limited “search” time. Our new website addresses that by featuring quick links to the Latest Local News, Latest Opinion, Latest Sports, Latest Business News, and Latest Lifestyles.

The popular links found on our old website have been carried over to the new one, to include our weekly poll question, Friends to Follow, and Calendar of Events.

There are also links to our popular quarterly publications – Front Porch Living magazine and Real Estate Guide.

www.r-cnews.com still features Breaking News as well as obituary listings and a link to our Classified pages.

All this in a “user friendly” format that was previously voted as the Best Website in the Roanoke-Chowan area. The new one promises to live up to that lofty distinction.
