Suspect arrested in shooting death

WILLIAMSTON – An arrest has been made in the shooting death of a Windsor man here last month.

Simon Perry Arrants, age 23 of Jamesville, is charged with an open count of murder for the death of 19-year-old Timothy Lloyd Baylor III, according to information on www.witn.com.

Arrants is held without bond in the Bertie-Martin Regional Jail. His first scheduled court appearance was Monday.

Arrants was arrested by the Williamston Police Department and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation.

Baylor was shot and killed May 23 in front of a residence located in the 200 block of Martin Street in Williamston. Baylor, the father of a three-month-old, was transported to Martin General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
