Lewiston man jailed

AHOSKIE – Drug possession has landed a Lewiston man in jail.

According to a report from the Ahoskie Police Department, at approximately 10:36 p.m. on Aug. 10, Officer Melanie White and Lt. Adam Benton made a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation on Richard Street.

Upon approaching the vehicle operated by Victor Antonio Edwards, 24, of 709 Indian Woods Road, officers alleged a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.  As a result of the officers’ investigation they seized cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Edwards was arrested and charged with felony possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.  He was placed under a $5,000 secured bond and transported to Hertford County Jail pending trial.
