Ahoskie man charged

AHOSKIE – An Ahoskie man was arrested Monday and faces charges of drug possession and trespassing.

According to information from the Ahoskie Police Department, at approximately 9:52 p.m. on Monday, APD Sgt. Tyrone Ruffin responded to an Ahoskie home where the caller wanted Darrell Lamont Gating removed from the residence.

Upon arriving, Ruffin and other APD officers found the 37-year-old Gatling in the residence. Gatling, whose address is listed as104-H VIP Road, Ahoskie, had previously been banned from returning to this residence.

Upon a search incident to arrest for trespassing, Gatling was found in possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia. He was charged with felony possession of cocaine, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, and trespassing.

Gatling was placed under a $5,000 secured bond and transported to Hertford County Jail pending trial.
