CONWAY — A Conway man lost his life following a wreck near here this weekend.

According to a spokesperson with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol Office in Roanoke Rapids, Jeremy Vinson, 34, was killed in a single vehicle wreck early Sunday morning on State Road 1541 (Burnt Bridges Road) 6.8 miles southeast of Conway in the Ashley’s Grove community.

A report filed by Trooper S. Richardson showed the vehicle Vinson was driving was traveling west when it went left of center and ran across the road. Vinson then overcorrected and the vehicle then ran off the right side of the road causing it to roll over. Vinson was ejected from the vehicle.

There were reportedly four other occupants in the vehicle who were injured and transported to area hospitals.

Contributing factors in the crash were listed as speed and overcorrecting.
