AHOSKIE – The investigation continues into the death of a five-month-old child in Ahoskie late last month.

Ahoskie Police Chief Troy Fitzhugh said Thursday his department was still actively involved in the investigation into the case that has been ruled a homicide, but no arrests have been made to date.

The only information released at this point is that shortly after 6 p.m. on Feb. 28, the Ahoskie Police Department received a 9-1-1 call in reference to an unresponsive child in the 400 block of North McGlohon Street.

The child reportedly died as a result of blunt trauma to his body.
