LA ladies edge Ridgecroft

MERRY HILL – Lawrence Academy garnered a 7-5 win over rival Ridgecroft here Tuesday.
The lady Warriors rallied from an early 3-0 deficit to secure the league victory.
Emma Conigliaro pitched six innings for the Warriors, giving up five runs on four hits in picking up the victory. She struck out seven. Leah Burch pitched one inning and garnered two strikeouts for Lawrence.
Ridgecroft jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first frame, but Lawrence bounced back for four in the home half of the same inning.
The Lady Rams tied the score with a run in the top of the second and then took the lead in the top of the fourth frame with a single run that made it 5-4.
Lawrence came back for three runs in the bottom of the fifth frame and that proved to be the difference.
Offensively, Leah Burch led the Lady Warriors with a 2-for-3 day at the plate including a grandslam and five RBIs. Priscilla Lunsford and Giovanna Conigliaro were each 1-for-3. G. Conigliaro added an RBI and two runs scored while Lunsford scored twice. Heather Hughes was 1-for-3.
Lauren Colson paced Ridgecroft with a 2-for-3 day at the plate that included an RBI. Sara Hackney and Erin Cooke each had a hit with Hackney adding a pair of RBIs.
