AHOSKIE — The Hertford County Day Care Association will celebrate the Week of the Young Child with a festive parade and other activities in Ahoskie on Saturday, April 16.

The parade will begin at 10 a.m. at Southern Bank in downtown Ahoskie and make its way west on Main Street to the Ahoskie Recreation Soccer Field (behind the old high school).

At the soccer field, the event will feature a Family Fun Day, complete with free food, education activities and entertainment for all ages, including a magic show.

The Week of the Young Child is April 10-16. In recognition of the week, North Carolina Governor Bev Perdue and the Ahoskie Town Council have presented special proclamations to the Hertford County Day Care Association in recognition of their care and education of local youngsters.
