ROCKY MOUNT – Lawrence Academy suffered another setback in volleyball here Tuesday.

The Lady Warriors fell to Rocky Mount Academy 25-11, 25-11, 25-12.

Kim Northcott had a perfect day for the Lady Warriors with her 10-of-10 serving performance. Hayden Thompson also recorded five blocks and four aces.

Lawrence, who is already a young team with no juniors or seniors, was without their most experienced player – Holly McNair – for the second straight game due to illness.

The news was good for the jayvee Lady Warriors, however, as they recorded their second win in a row.

Lawrence defeated Rocky Mount 25-16 and 25-22 to improve to 2-6 overall.

Sydney Brabble had three aces for Lawrence and while Giovanna Conigliaro had two aces and a dig.

Olivia Hoggard checked in with two kills and Taylor Wilson had three aces and one kill while Chelsea Ginn checked in with two aces and two kills.

“We overcame our poor serving by having the best game of the year as far as communication is concerned,” Lawrence Head Coach Dr. Ed Clouse said.
