AHOSKIE – The town of Ahoskie wants to aid its businesses.

As one of the ways of performing that task, the town incorporated a Business Directory into its newly designed website www.ahoskie.org.

“Local businesses can list the name of the business, phone number, address and their product on our website,” Ahoskie Town Manager Tony Hammond said. “If they have a website, that can be reached by a hyperlink.”

The town hopes the redesigned website and Business Directory should allow people in the town and those visiting to find out more information about the businesses.

Hammond said the town had sent out questionnaires requesting information for the directories and many local businesses had responded, which allowed the town to create the directory and begin providing the information.

Those wishing to access it need only go to the main page of the website and they can find the Business Directory link near the top of the page. After clicking on the link, a list of businesses appears and there are more than five pages of listings.

The list of businesses has one or two options on the right side of the page. All businesses listed have a “View Profile” button which will take those interested to the page which lists any information provided to the town. The second is a “Visit Website” button for those who have provided website links.

Hammond said the town would still accept more information from businesses that had not provided it thus far.

“For those businesses that have not participated, please feel free to forward your information to me for inclusion in this new feature,” he said.

The redesigned website also offers a section for those who wish to make comments on town issues and direct those comments to the appropriate department.

To take advantage of that feature, visit the website and click on “Contact Us” to fill out the form.

Hammond said he is excited about the redesigned site and what it provides for the people of Ahoskie and those visiting the town.
