Aug. 22, 1956 – March 12, 2018

JACKSONVILLE, NC – Roger Earl Liverman Sr., 61 years old, passed away at his home in Jacksonville, NC on March 12, 2018. Roger was born to the late Roy and Bettie Liverman of Ahoskie, NC on August 22, 1956.

He grew up in Union and graduated from Ahoskie High School in 1974. After graduation, he stayed and worked in Ahoskie as a mechanic at the Amoco Station. He later owned and operated several businesses, including Liverman’s Painting & Roofing, The Hideaway Bar and Liverman’s Café. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR, watching wrestling, and racing cars at the Menola racetrack and the Suffolk Raceway.

Roger will be sadly missed by his wife of 34 years, Rita Liverman and their children: Roger Earl Liverman Jr. (Wendy) of Winton, NC, Lisa Dallas (Philip) of Jacksonville, NC; Clarence Williams Jr. of Morris Chapel, TN and Mike Williams (Krystal) of Gates, NC. He was a proud Papa to eight granddaughters (Shelly, Juaniqua, Hope, Andrea, Courtney, Jazmyne, Kayla and Paige); three grandsons (George, Dakota and DJ); and one great granddaughter (Skyler). He was never happier than when the house was full of his ‘babies’ and could often be found sitting outside watching them play and fixing things for them because Papa could fix anything!

He is survived by two sisters, Ruth Miller (Dick) of Ahoskie, and Carrie Anne Newsome (James) of Bonham, TX; and one brother, Donald Liverman of Ahoskie.

He was predeceased by two sisters (Beatrice and Louise); five brothers (Everette, Merle, Raymond, Levey and Coben); and one grandson (Nicholas Williams).

A memorial service will be held at Union Baptist Church on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at 2:30 pm. The service will be officiated by the Reverend Randy Miller.

Roger’s wishes were to be cremated and for there to be no burial/graveside service.

Cremation services are being handled at Jones Funeral Home, 303 Chaney Ave., Jacksonville, NC.
