WINTON – The Hertford County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in locating a local man wanted on several charges, to include assault with a deadly weapon, after shooting another local man in the leg during an armed robbery.

Hertford County Sheriff Juan Vaughan said that 21-year-old Dytwan Chamblee is wanted on the charges of armed robbery, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to inflict serious injury, breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

“Mr. Chamblee may be traveling with two other unknown males who were involved in an armed robbery on Nov. 2,” said Sheriff Vaughan. “They were last seen driving a black Chevrolet.”

Vaughan warned the public not to approach Chamblee if he is spotted.

“He (Chamblee) and the other two men are to be considered armed and dangerous,” Vaughan said. “If you do see Mr. Chamblee, please do not attempt to approach him. Note the time and place that you saw him, and possibly who he was with at that time, or what type of vehicle you saw him in.”

Those with information on Chamblee’s whereabouts are urged to immediately contact the Hertford County Sheriff’s Office at 252-358-7800 or the nearest law enforcement agency.
