Ron Cooke

WINDSOR – Ronald “Ron” Ervin Cooke 71, of Cashie Street, Windsor, died Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Vidant Medical Center. He was born in Bertie County on April 26, 1943 to the late Ervin Asa and Lucille Elizabeth Vaughan Cooke.

Ron was a former teacher/coach at Bertie High School. He also coached at East Wake High School and Lawrence Academy.  He was a long time member of Cashie Golf and Country Club. Ron was a talented draftsman as well as an appraiser with Triple A & Associates.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Walker Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Tim Parker. Burial will follow in the Roxobel-Kelford Cemetery.

Survivors include his son, Ronald Douglas Cooke and wife Heather Warfield Cooke of Cary; grandchildren, Ashley Grace, Sydney Lucille and Emily Gray Cooke, all of Cary; and a sister, Peggy Cooke Hughes of Mesa, AZ.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 27 from 6-8 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home.
