Suspects sought in forced entry

GARYSBURG – Two suspects are sought in connection with the forcible entry of a residence here Sunday.

Northampton County Sheriff’s Deputy Kenny Melton was the first officer to arrive at the home, located Erma Garner Trail in Garysburg, responding to a report of a breaking and entering of a residence by armed subjects.

Melton spoke with the victim about the incident, saying they answered a knock at the door and two black males wearing masks forced their way into the residence. One of the subjects was brandishing a handgun.

The victim began to fight with the subjects, until the victim was struck in the head with the gun.  The suspects demanded items from the victim, but during that time the victim was able to escape and call for help.

The suspects left the residence in a vehicle (make and model is not known) headed towards Virginia.

The suspects are described as black males; one being a tall brown skinned male and the short brown skinned male.

The victim suffered minor injuries during this incident and was treated by EMS at the scene.
