GARYSBURG – Officials of the North Carolina Center for Automotive Research (NCCAR) have announced an exclusive, multi-year agreement with executives of Pennsylvania-based Team Pro-Motion Inc. to host motorcycle rider training and track days.

“TPM plans to hold regular three-day training schedules throughout the calendar year to use NCCAR’s bi- directional, two mile track, dirt facilities, operations building and paddock,” explained Simon Cobb, chief operating officer at NCCAR.

In establishing NCBike, to facilitate motorcycle safety and skills training, Team Pro-Motion’s commitment strengthens the continuing, long-term growth of NCCAR, enabling the Center to improve infrastructure, cultivate rider education to improve safety for riders of all ages and ongoing skills training to reduce accidents on public roads.

Conceived in 2004 by automotive industry representatives and economic developers, the 501(c)(3) educational non profit NCCAR takes advantage of a large expanse of secluded, but well-located land just one mile from I-95. The property’s size and location make it ideal for a year-round testing and development facility for automotive and motorcycle manufacturers, suppliers and users, especially from mid-Atlantic and Southeastern regions. County offers a unique mix of privacy, accessibility, infrastructure and convenience.

When Glen Goldman, founder and president of Team Pro Motion, made his first visit to the property in early January 2012, he was sufficiently impressed to make an immediate commitment to use the NCCAR facility for rider training and track days.

“This track is a gift,” Goldman said. “It’s not every day that a track comes along… not only a track, but people behind the scenes who are so professional and proactive in making the necessary accommodations concerning safety. My hope would be that riders will enjoy and get the same, thrilling results that I’ve been so fortunate to have, riding this new track.”

“After looking at the pictures, I knew it would be good,” added Billy Sink, Team Pro-Motion’s Track Manager. “But after riding (NCBike), it’s even ten times better than I’d ever imagined.”

“We’re truly excited to host dates at NCBike and work with the staff there,” Goldman said. “We will always strive to maintain outcome and energy for each other’s success.”

Opened in May 2010, NCCAR’s initial funding was provided by a broad array of local, state and federal government entities, philanthropic organizations and in-kind support from private companies. The 155 developed acres at NCCAR include a two-mile test track, eight acre dirt test area, 15-channel encrypted WIFI telecommunications network and 23,000 square feet of office and garage space.
