LEWISTON – Two associates at the Perdue Agri-business Rendering Plant were injured here Monday.

According to Luis A. Luna, Vice President of Corporate Communications, the two suffered burns in an accident.

The two were treated by fellow associates at Perdue until the Lewiston Woodville Rescue Squad arrived. Both associates were airlifted to Pitt Memorial Hospital via EastCare.

“Our primary concern is for the associates and their well-being,” Luna said. “Our prayers go out to them and their families.”

Luna said an investigation would be conducted to find out exactly what happened. He did say, however, that there were no major damages to the plant and that it continues in operation.

Names of the victims were not released due to privacy issues.
