MURFREESBORO – Mary Laxton Wise, 61, of Murfreesboro died Monday, June 4, 2012 at Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA.

Originally from West Virginia, she was a devoted wife, a caring mother, a trusted friend and was an inspiration and light to all who knew her.  For each act of kindness shown her she was sincerely appreciative and thankful.  She loved her church and was very faithful in her Bible study.  Her memberships included the Exchangettes of Murfreesboro and Meherrin Baptist Church.

Survivors include her devoted and loving husband of 42 years, Buddy Wise of their home in Murfreesboro; one daughter, Sandy Davis and husband, Mike, of Murfreesboro; her two sons, Buddy Wise, Jr. and wife, Leigh Ann, of Ahoskie and Troy Wise of New Orleans, LA; six grandchildren, Michael, Corey and Rachael Davis of Murfreesboro and Zach, Catie and Evan Wise of Ahoskie; one brother, Fred Laxton of Chesapeake, VA; and one sister, Sue Burton of Portsmouth, VA.

The family received friends at Bridgers Funeral Home, Inc. in Conway, Wednesday, June 6, and a funeral service for her will be held Thursday, June 7 at 2:00 p.m. in Meherrin Baptist Church with the Rev. Josh Parsons and the Rev. Tom Hall presiding.  Burial will follow in the Meherrin Baptist Church Cemetery.
