Hazel C. Felton

WINTON – Hazel Elizabeth Carter Felton, 92, a native of Ahoskie, died December 7, 2004, in Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie. She was the widow of James Richard Felton.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Winton Baptist Church by the Rev. Dr. Charles Harris. Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, is in charge.

Mrs. Felton joined the Baptist children’s organization, the &uot;Sunbeams,&uot; at the age of four and as an adult was always affiliated with some branch of the Women’s Missionary Union through the Baptist church. She was also involved in many church and community activities and maintained an interest in those activities throughout her life. At the time of her death, she was a member of Winton Baptist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Sue Felton Woodward and Mollie Felton, both of Suffolk, Va., and Emily Felton Winstead of Winton; a sister, Mae Carter Johnson of Potecasi; and three grandchildren.

Janice B. Jones

ROCKY MOUNT – Janice Barneville Jones, 44, died December 3, 2004 at her residence.

TeQuan Williams

ROCKY MOUNT – TeQuan Williams, 5, died December 7, 2004 at Hill Top Home, Raleigh.

Agnes Stanley

ROCKY MOUNT – Agnes Narcisus Stanley, 100, died December 5, 2004 at South Village Nursing Home, Rocky Mount.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at New Bethel Free Will Baptist Church by Bishop William Bowser. Interment will be in Northeastern Cemetery, Rocky Mount. Visitation will be conducted from 3 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home. H.D. Pope Funeral Home, Rocky Mount, is in charge.

William Bynum

ROCKY MOUNT – William Ernest &uot;Rabbit&uot; Bynum, 72, died December 3, 2004 at Heritage Hospital, Tarboro.

A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday with the family receiving friends from 6 to 7 p.m. A funeral will be conducted at 12 noon Saturday at First Baptist Church, Battleboro, by the Rev. Eugene Lyons. Interment will be in Marks Chapel Cemetery. H.D. Pope Funeral Home, Rocky Mount, is in charge.

Darian T. Spruill

Mr. Darian Thomas Spruill, 41, of Mitchellville, Md., died December 6, 2004 at Washington Hospital Center Cancer Institute. Mr. Spruill was the beloved husband of Karen M. Spruill; devoted father of Cameron Spruill; loving son of Virginia D. Spruill and the late Charles T. Spruill.

The late Mr. Spruill will lie in state at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 2020 St. Joseph’s Dr., Largo, MD, Friday, December 10, 2004 from 5 to 7 p.m. Father Raymond Moore celebrant. He will also lie in state at the Sandy Branch Missionary Baptist Church, Roxobel, NC, Saturday, December 11, from 6 to 8 p.m., where services will be held Sunday, December 12 at 1 p.m.

Interment will be in the Cumbo Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Rich Square, NC.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Darian T. Spruill to the Washington Hospital Center Cancer Institute, 110 Irving St. NW, Washington, DC 20010.

Alvin Saunders

SUNBURY – Alvin Saunders, 85, a native of Gates County, died December 6, 2004 at Albemarle Hospital, Elizabeth City.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Walton Grove AME Zion Church in Hobbsville by the Rev. Johnny Warren Sr. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Hertford County Undertakers, Winton, is in charge.

Survivors include two children, Alvin Saunders of Butner and Linda Stallings of Sunbury; two sisters, Elizabeth Beamon of Franklinton and Erma Goovy of Aiken, S.C.; one brother, Grady Saunders of Waterbury; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Willie M. Rogers

AHOSKIE – Willie Mae Rogers, a native of Ahoskie, died December 6, 2004, in Philadelphia, Pa.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church by the Rev. H.H. Murrill. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Reynolds Funeral Home, Inc., Ahoskie, is in charge.

Survivors include one stepson, Larry Gaines of Heightsville, Md.; one foster daughter, Michelle Saunders of Godwin; five grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
