Jerry Herbert Bunch, age 91, of Lewiston Woodville, North Carolina died on Tuesday, March 13, 2012. He was a native of Bertie County living in Lewiston Woodville most of his life.
Born Thursday, November 25, 1920, he was the son of the late Henry Bunch and the late Marcia Bunch.
He served in the Army from 1943 until 1946. He was a World War II Veteran.
Mr. Bunch was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lewiston Woodville, NC. He retired as postmaster of the Lewiston Post Office.
Surviving are daughter, Jerry Leschorn and her husband Daniel of Charleston, SC. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Hannah and Rachel Leschorn of Charleston, SC.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Whitehead Bunch, his brother, Eugene Bunch and his sister, Maude Kirwin.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 16, 2012 at the Hoggard Memorial Cemetery in Lewiston Woodville, NC.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Garrett-Jones Funeral Home, 205 NC Hwy 42 W, Ahoskie, North Carolina.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Lewiston Woodville, NC or charity of choice.
