WINDSOR – Survivors of recent weather-related disasters in Bertie and Hertford counties are targeted once again….this time in a good way.

Bertie County, in cooperation with the Bertie Relief and Recovery Team, will distribute donations to Bertie County disaster survivors and to Hertford County survivors of the April 16, 2011 tornadoes from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8.

The distribution of certain items will take place, as follows, at two locations in Windsor:

Clothing at the old Bertie County Social Services building (1009 Wayland Ave.); and

Distribution of other items (to include kitchen items, toiletries, toys, furniture, miscellaneous household items, holiday decorations, house wares, senior citizen needs, etc.) at the old Bertie County Health Department Gym (502 Barringer Street).

Both distribution points are located behind Bill Clough Ford.

Those receiving the items are required to show a photo ID or other proof of the storm-affected residential address.
