Hawk Football Diary

Not a bad day today either; being a heavy teaching day on the field. We had lifting this morning, getting us pumped up and sweating early in the day, and ready to get out on the field in the afternoon. We got to install our two minute offense today, and got a few good reps of it in before our conditioning.

We got to add a little levity to the atmosphere and relieve the tension at meetings this afternoon with a “skit night,” where the team got to make fun of the coaches and vice versa. No one was safe from a good, friendly roasting.

The team got split up into classes and made skits that way, though the juniors were the unofficial winner of the evening, players taking on the role of a coach in a team meeting.

The coaches had their share of barbs as well, giving a “lookalike” slideshow featuring several players and their celebrity lookalikes. A good time was had by all and it got us nice and loose for our last scrimmage of camp tomorrow at 3 p.m.

Nick Watts is a junior offensive tackle for the Hawks who is a two-year starter. He was named to the CIAA All-Rookie team in 2009 and has started 20 games for the Hawks in his two seasons.
