MURFREESBORO – Sidney Thomas “S. T.” Wrenn, age 83, passed away on February 4, 2021 at Vidant Roanoke Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie, NC.

Mr. Wrenn was born in Person County, NC, on December 17, 1937 a son of the late Mellie Thomas and Lucille Bowen Wrenn. S. T. was a man that enjoyed working and worked a minimum of two jobs at once during his career, retiring from Easco Aluminum. After retirement S.T. started Wrenn Vacuum Cleaner Shop, working as long as his health permitted. He was an active member of Meherrin Baptist Church where he served in several capacities, including deacon. Mr. Wrenn was also active in his community, being involved in the Murfreesboro Historical Association and the Murfreesboro Watermelon Festival. He enjoyed old westerns on TV, Nascar racing, and in his younger days, hunting, and camping.

Besides his parents, “S.T.” was predeceased by a sister, Phyllis Powell, and his stepfather, Frank Moore.

Left to cherish his memory is his devoted wife, Mildred Pulliam Wrenn; three sons, Kevin Thomas Wrenn, Sr. of Ahoskie, NC, Kenneth Wrenn and wife, Karen of Greenville, NC, Karl Wrenn and wife, Melisa of Mooresville, NC; three grandsons, Kevin Wrenn Jr. and wife, Heather of Trap, NC, Michael Wrenn and wife, Holly of Murfreesboro, NC, and Cameron Wrenn of Greenville, NC; two granddaughters, Victoria Wrenn of Columbus, NC, and Courtney Simpson and husband, Matthew of Concord, NC; two great grandsons, Blake Wrenn and Carson Wrenn of Trap, NC; a great granddaughter, Lula Wrenn of Murfreesboro, NC; a sister, Yolanda Day and husband, Frank of Roxboro, NC; a step sister, Dale Moore of Timberlake, NC; a step brother, Neil Moore of Timberlake, NC; and brother-in-law, Gordan Powell of Roxboro, NC.

Due to COVID-19 circumstances, the public is welcome to sign the guestbook and view Mr. Wrenn on Saturday, February 6, 2021 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. at Garrett-Sykes Memorial Chapel-Murfreesboro, NC. Face masks and social distancing will be expected.

A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at 2 p.m. at the Meherrin Baptist Church, Murfreesboro, NC, with Rev. John Porter, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Again, face masks and social distancing will be expected.
