EURE – Janette Felton Edwards, 73, of 859 Taylor Mill Road, died Thursday, November 5, 2020 in Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie.

Mrs. Edwards was born in Gates County on September 17, 1947, and was the daughter of the late Mills N. and Ellis Rountree Felton. A homemaker, she was a faithful member of Eure Christian Church where she had served as a Sunday school teacher, a Youth Leader, and as Director of Vacation Bible School. Other memberships included her past work with the Eure Woman’s Club.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Marlene Campbell (Alton) and Mildred Bell (Sidney); and by a brother, Mills Armstead Felton.

Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Earl Edwards; her daughter, Melanie Edwards Temple and husband, Michael, of Conway; her son, Matthew D. Edwards and wife, Cheryl, of Seaford, DE; and her sister, Jacqueline Neely and husband, Jim, of Holly Springs.

A graveside service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Eure Christian Church Cemetery and will be conducted by her pastor, The Rev. Wade Bennett. Friends may visit with the family at the church following the service, or all other times at the residence.
