AULANDER – Jasper Ryan Deanes, age 2, of St. John-Millennium Road, went to be with the Lord just one day shy of his third birthday on Sunday, September 20, 2020 after celebrating with his family and friends in a tragic accident. A precious child gone way too soon.

Jasper was born on September 21, 2017 in Ahoskie, NC. He was a fun-loving vibrant boy that loved to be outdoors. Jasper always had a smile and brought great joy to everyone he met. He enjoyed swimming with his mama in the pool and had just learned to swim without floaties on. He loved playing music and singing. Jasper was amazed with trains and loved Halloween. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

Left to cherish Jasper’s memory is his mother, Lauren Hope Barmer and fiancé /daddy Eric Dunlow; his biological father, Ryan Deanes; his maternal grandmother, Susan Barmer; two maternal grandfathers, Jimmy Barmer and wife Sheree, and Derrick Dunlow and fiancé Emily; two maternal great grandmothers, Brenda Baisey, and Delores Brown and husband Jimmy; two brothers, Dylan Barmer, and Austin Daughtrey; two uncles, William Barmer, and Clay Barmer; two great aunts, Linda Farmer and husband Clayton, Billie Gail Chumbley and husband Jerry; two great uncles, James Brown, and Vann Willoughby and wife Lisa; along with many extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 24, 2020 from 6-8 p.m. at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC and other times at the home of great aunt Linda Farmer, 213 Jernigan Swamp Road, Ahoskie, NC.

A celebration of Jasper’s life will be held on Friday, September 25, 2020 at 2 p.m. at the Job Cemetery, Aulander, NC, with Rev. Greg Hurdle officiating.

This tragic accident has caused great pain for the family. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers for the days ahead. With Jasper’s colorful personality, the family requests that everyone wear bright colors to his celebration service on Friday. The community will have a candle light vigil on Saturday night at 7 p.m. at Millennium Fire Department.
