MURFREESBORO, NC – Rebecca “Becky” Futrell Edwards, age 73, of Murfreesboro, passed away on Monday, February 18, 2019 at her home.

She was born on June 15, 1945 in Murfreesboro, NC to Kelly Futrell, Sr. and Margaret Nann Futrell. Becky was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many. She was a devoted homemaker and her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Becky loved riding horses and caring for them. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Rudolph “Rudy” Edwards; her son, Ernest Christopher Edwards; and her brothers, Kelly Futrell, Jr. and Chestine Futrell.

Becky is survived by her daughter, Gay Whitley and husband Doug of Murfreesboro, NC; her son, Brian Edwards and wife Susie of Stoneville, NC; two granddaughters, Amanda Whitley of Raleigh, NC and Phoebe Edwards of Stoneville, NC; four grandsons, Wallace Whitley of Murfreesboro, NC, Christopher Quinton Edwards of Murfreesboro, NC, Ernest Andrew Edwards of Murfreesboro, and Griffin Edwards of Stoneville, NC; two brothers, Robert Futrell and wife Diane of Murfreesboro, NC and Larry Futrell and wife Earlene of Murfreesboro, NC; and her sister, Susie Willis of Beaufort, NC.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Ashley’s Grove Baptist Church in Conway, NC with Rev. David Ross officiating.
