Clarence D. Greene, Jr.

OXFORD, NC – Clarence David Greene, Jr., 59, of Oxford, NC, formerly of Raleigh, NC, succumbed to cancer January 26, 2019.

He was born July 18, 1959 to Clarence David and Rachel Hedrick Greene in Lenoir, NC and grew up in Blowing Rock and Graham, NC. He was a graduate of N.C. State University with a degree in Civil Engineering. After working summers for DOT in Ahoskie, NC he began a career with NCDOT in 1984. He was retired from NCDOT in the Materials and Tests Division specializing in bridges. He was an avid model train collector and loved cheering on NCSU teams and the Carolina Panthers.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sarah T. and Clarence Hedrick of Lenoir, NC, and Opal and Clarence Greene of Blowing Rock, NC.

He is survived by his beloved partner, Lisa Adcock Mize of Oxford, NC; his daughters, Sarah Beth Thompson (Clay) of Raleigh, NC and Anna Dawson (Jeremy) of Colerain, NC; granddaughter, Sarah Charlotte Thompson; his parents of Blowing Rock, NC; sisters, Sarah Hedrick Greene (Carol Doyle) of Denver, NC and Gennie Greene Saffer (C.G.) and nephew, Patrick Saffer, and niece, Margaret Saffer, all of Charlotte, NC.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
