AULANDER, NC – Evelyn Cecil Farmer, age 86, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2018 at her son’s home surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Farmer was born on June 20, 1932 to Johnnie Cecil and Chloe Harrison Cecil in Windsor, NC. Evelyn was a member of Millennium Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was a Godly woman that loved her Lord and her family.

Evelyn spent countless hours crafting and sewing in her earlier years. She also enjoyed fishing and making her famous peanut butter fudge. Evelyn was said to be one of the sweetest people that her caregiver had ever taken care of. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend to many that will be deeply missed by all that knew her.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-one years and former Hertford County Commissioner, Ray A. Farmer, along with her parents and brother, Bobby Cecil.

Evelyn is survived by two sons, Johnnie Ray Farmer and wife Paula, and Danny Lee Farmer and wife Judy; two daughters, Evelyn Ann Rawls and husband Ray, and Darlene F. Williams and husband Thomas, all of Aulander; five grandsons, Christopher J. Farmer and partner Jay of Colerain, NC, Travis Rawls and wife Reanna of Winterville, NC, Danny Lee Farmer, II of Lewiston, Thom Williams and wife Shannon, and Jon Williams and wife Chrystal, all of Aulander; two granddaughters, Michelle Hoggard and husband Ben, and Kelsey Farmer, all of Aulander; eight great-grandsons, Addison Hoggard, Michael Farmer, Trey Farmer, Mason Williams, Brayden Harper, Luke Williams, Levi Williams, and Rhett Williams; two great-granddaughters, Imogen Rawls, and Fayth Farmer; along with sister-in-law, Ida Mae Cecil of Windsor.

The family will receive friends at the home of son, Johnnie Ray Farmer in Millennium, NC.

A celebration of life funeral service will be held Saturday, December 29, 2018, at 2:00 pm at the Millennium Pentecostal Holiness Church, Aulander, NC, with Reverend Taylor Latham officiating. Burial will follow at Job Cemetery, Aulander, NC.
