ELIZABETH CITY, NC – Gabrilla Allen Newbold, age 74, of Elizabeth City, NC, passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center.

She was born on November 4, 1944 to the late E. C. “Jack” Allen and Annie Davis Allen in Elizabeth City, and was previously married to Ronnie Newbold in 1963. She attended Elizabeth City High School, became a telephone operator after graduation, and was a Tupperware manager for many years. She lived in Norfolk, VA, Murfreesboro, NC, and Elizabeth City, NC and loved baking and cooking for family and friends.

She was a longtime member of the Weeksville Lions Club Auxiliary and had received many regional, as well as national, recognitions for sales and recruiting from Tupperware.

She is survived by her children, Dal and Ginger Newbold, Allen and Cindy Newbold, and Eric Newbold; grandchildren, Bobby and Heather Newbold, Jessie and Jerry Ezzell, Caroline and Andy Sutton, Matthew Williamitis, Mari-Kate Newbold, Claire Newbold, Brooke Newbold, and Avery Newbold; great grandchildren, Dillon Newbold, Greyson Newbold, and Jacob Ezzell; brother, E. C. “Clay” Allen, Jr.; nieces and nephews, Johnny Burgess, E. C. “Tres” and Jodi Allen along with their children Olivia and Lily, CDR and Mrs. Mason Allen and their children Mason Allen, Jr. and Anne Maris, Laura Burgess, and Scott Spade; and her best friend, Pat Long.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on November 18, 2018 at Old Hollywood Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Roger Braun officiating. The family will receive friends at the home after the service.
