Agnes P. Byrum

AULANDER, NC – Agnes Leigh Perry Byrum, age 84, passed away on October 1, 2018 at the Chowan River Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Edenton, NC.

Mrs. Byrum was born in Hertford County, NC on April 22, 1934, a daughter of the late Kelly William and Geneva Proctor Perry. Agnes worked as a Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance Agent for Kerr Plastics for 26 years until her retirement in 2010. She was a faithful, devoted member of Ahoskie Church of God. Agnes was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend that will be deeply missed by all that knew her.

Besides her parents, Agnes was preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul Edison Byrum, and brother, Carnise Edward Perry.

Left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Paul Wesley Byrum of Kelford, NC, and Clarence Daniel Byrum and wife Patty of Aulander, NC; two granddaughters, Jennifer Tinkham and husband, Jamie of Aulander, NC, and Cathy Byrum Jernigan and husband, Timothy of Merry Hill, NC; two grandsons, Aaron Kipp Byrum of Aulander, NC, and Kelly Edward Byrum and wife, Jennifer of Rocky Mount, NC; and great grandson, Tyler Ryan Jernigan and great granddaughter, Tessa Renee Jernigan of Merry Hill, NC; great grandson, Hunter Bradley Tinkham of Aulander, NC and great grandson, Ethan Paul Byrum of Rocky Mount, NC; a step great granddaughter, Kayla Jernigan; and step great great grandchildren, Conner and Makenna.

A celebration of life service was held on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at the Ahoskie Church of God, Ahoskie, NC, with Rev. Raleigh Johnson officiating.  Burial followed in Aulander Cemetery.
