AHOSKIE, NC – Mary Lillian Raines, age 78, passed away on September 11, 2018, at the home of her daughter in Ahoskie, NC.

She was born in Toonigh, GA, on May 4, 1940, a daughter of the late Ray McKinley and Lillie Pruitt Nute. Mary was the owner and operator of B&M Upholstery and Antiques Store in Lakeland FL, until she moved to Ahoskie to be near her daughter.

Besides her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her brother, Raymond Melvin Nute.

Left to cherish her memory is her devoted daughter, Kathy McElhaney Richmond and husband, Don; her sister, Clara M. Reed; a grandson, Joseph Lee Richmond and wife, Jenn; a granddaughter, Leanne Elizabeth Richmond; and her great granddaughter, Emery Kate Richmond, all of Ahoskie, NC; and two nieces and two nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Toonigh, GA.
