SHILOH, NC – Earline Whitehurst Revelle, 91, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, August 28th at her residence in Shiloh with her husband of 60 years by her side. “Miss Earline” had a loving and caring spirit that will leave an empty space in the hearts of her family, friends, church and community.

She is survived by her husband, Billy; and her daughter, Rebecca, and her husband, David Parks. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. She also leaves a great-grandson, Jayden Parks, who she loved greatly.

Revelle

She was the last remaining child of the late Earl and Mozelle Whitehurst. Also preceding her in death were her sister Shirley W. Godfrey, her brother William E. Whitehurst, and her grandson, Dustin Parks.

From 1930 until 1979 when she retired, she spent her life in school; either being the student or teaching students. She taught in Ahoskie and Elizabeth City. Seeing her students as adults brought her great joy. Since her retirement, her energy was directed toward her family and church. Being selected to serve on the Board of Directors of the Biblical Recorder and being the first woman to serve as deacon of Shiloh Baptist Church were humbling and rewarding.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Shiloh Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Royal officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church and, at all other times, at the home (172 Milltown Road, Shiloh, NC).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shiloh Baptist Church, 952 Highway 343 South, Shiloh, NC 27974.
