HOBBSVILLE, NC – Martha Virginia “Jennie” Britt Hudgins, 59, of 1933 NC Hwy 37 South, Hobbsville, passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2018 in Carteret Health Care, Morehead City, following a sudden illness.

Jennie was born in Hertford County on May 7, 1959, and was the daughter of the late Walter Bennett and Rousseau Allen Britt. An Emergency Medical Technician with Pasquotank County EMS, she attended Zion United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Freda Williams.

Surviving are her husband of 27 years, David Brown Hudgins; her son, Zackery Britt Hudgins and his fiancé, Katie, of Greenville; two sisters, Trudy Harris of Smithfield and Donna Compton of Fremont; and many other family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 23, at 11:00 a.m. in Zion United Methodist Church and will be conducted by her pastor, The Rev. Steve Hall. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Friends may join the family on Tuesday, May 22, from 7 to 8 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, or in the church social hall immediately after the service on Wednesday, or all other times at the residence.
