AHOSKIE, NC – Cecil Gordon Alston, 71, of Ahoskie passed away Monday, April 9, 2018 in his home.

Mr. Alston was born in Hertford County on February 19, 1947, and was the son of the late Grover Cleveland “G.C.” and Millie Hughes Alston.

A retired tobacco farmer, more recently he had been employed with Pierce Leaf Company.  He was a member of both St. John Baptist Church and Beechwood Country Club.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Steve Alston.

Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Marian Daniels Alston; two sons, Gordon Cecil Alston and wife Becky, and Allen Daniel Alston; and a grandson, Dylan Cecil Alston, all of Ahoskie; and by a special cousin who was more like a sister, Sharon Frances Phelps and husband Ronnie of Coinjock.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at Beechwood Country Club, and will be conducted by Pastor Raymond Faircloth, Jr.  Friends may join the family for a time of visitation in the country club immediately following the service on Wednesday evening.
