BAYTOWN, TX – Vickey Jeanette Baggett Rountree, 58, of 1602 Sheridan Drive, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2018, in her home.

Mrs. Rountree was born in Chesapeake, VA on January 17, 1960. A homemaker and mother, before to moving to Texas, and on return trips home, she attended Gatesville Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by her father, George Baggett, Sr., and by a daughter, Samantha Lynn Terry, she is survived by her husband of nearly 10 years, Donnie W. Rountree; her mother and step-father, Annie and Horace Castelloe of Ahoskie; a daughter, Annie Terry of Millennium; a step-daughter, Leigh Ann Mercer of Dover, DE; five sisters, Peggy Johnson and Janet Brickhouse, both of Ahoskie, Debra Peele and husband Al of Gatesville, Debbie Hall of South Boston, VA, and Kathy Webster and husband Nick of Chesapeake; two brothers, Jerry Castelloe, Sr. and wife Wanda of Ahoskie, and George Baggett, Jr. of Chesapeake, VA; three grandchildren, Samuel Hussein, Anthony Smallwood, and Yelana Smallwood; and a step-granddaughter, Kaila Hanna.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 11 at 3:00 p.m. in Gatesville Baptist Church and will be conducted by the Revs. Ray Brickhouse and Elmer Vann. Friends may join the family in the social hall of the church immediately following the service.

The family asks that flowers be omitted, and contributions be made to either Gatesville Baptist Church, or the American Cancer Society.
