RICH SQUARE – Doris Woodard Early, age 76, of Roxobel, more recently of Rich Square, died on March 20, 2017 at the Rich Square Villa of Rich Square.

She was born on July 26, 1940 to the Roger and Mildred Woodard. She was married to Charles Robert Early in 1961 and to this marriage was born four children. Doris was a member of the Sandy Run Baptist Church in Roxobel. She loved working in her flower gardens and enjoyed visiting her friends and family and was a dedicated homemaker.

She was preceded in death by husband, Charles Robert Early; mother, Mildred Martin Woodard; father, Roger Woodard, Sr.; daughter, Shirley Lovegrove; son, Billy Ray Early; and brother, Roger Woodard, Jr.

Doris is survived by her daughter, Joyce Marie Lassiter and her husband Milton of Oak City, NC; son, Charles J. Buddy Early of Rich Square, NC; sister, Elizabeth Cale of Union, NC; two brothers, Thomas Woodard and his wife Carolyn of Suffolk, VA and Ben Woodard and his wife Nancy of Jackson, NC; two granddaughters, Katherine Jones and her husband Eric of Greenville, NC and Stephanie Marcos of Greenville, NC; two grandsons, Milton Lassiter, Jr. of Oak City, NC and William Lovegrove of Roxobel, NC; four great-granddaughters, Alana Jones, Karina Marcos, Veronica Marcos and Angelica Marcos, all of Greenville, NC; and two great-grandsons, Cameron Jones and Marco Marcos, both of Greenville, NC.

Graveside services will be conducted on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Roxobel Kelford Cemetery in Roxobel, NC, with Rev. Dr. Dave Rimel officiating.

The family will visit with friends at the cemetery following the graveside.
