VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – Billie Rose Bunting Scholl, 87, formerly of Ewell Road in Thoroughgood, died April 20, 2016.

A native of Chincoteague, VA, she was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Kenneth Charles Scholl; parents, Emory G. and Willye Daisey Bunting; and brother, John W. Bunting.

Billie was a retired Navy wife and member of Thalia Lynn Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother, who was the center of her family, for whom she devoted her life.

She is survived by her son, William L. Scholl (Jayne) of Virginia Beach; two daughters, Deborah S. Hinton (John) of Murfreesboro, NC and Susan S. McCracken (Brian) of Virginia Beach; eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Laura, Matthew, John, Michael, Sarah, Katie and Will; two great-granddaughters, Audrina and Amelia; a special cousin, Frederick Watson; a niece, Frances Bennett; and a nephew, Kenny Bunting.

The family would like to extend special thanks to her caregiver, Nikki Hearvey, the staff at Bay Lake Assisted Living, and Medi Hospice.

A graveside service was held on Friday, April in the Albert G. Horton, Jr. Veterans Cemetery. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth, VA, was in charge.
