Northeast tops Terra Ceia

LASKER – Northeast Academy got their first win in the Tarheel Independent Conference here Thursday.

The Lady Eagles took a straight-set victory over Terra Ceia Christian School to improve to 7-3 overall and 1-3 in the league. Northeast won 25-16, 27-25 and 25-20.

“We’re enjoying our first conference win,” said veteran Eagles’ skipper Cap Pfeiffer. “We played a very focused game.”

Jennifer Sykes paced the Lady Eagles during the victory, recording eight assists as well as five kills, four tips, three digs and three aces. Lacy Pfeiffer, a fellow senior, added three aces to go with a pair of digs, two kills and two tips.

Kelly Sykes had six kills and six digs on the afternoon as well as three aces and an assist. Brittany Bolton added three assists and two aces.

Northeast also got two aces and two kills from Lauren Edwards and two digs and a tip from Dayna Barnes.

Northeast claimed a straight-set win over Terra Ceia in the junior varsity girls contest.

The Lady Eagles won 25-22 and 25-10 to improve to 4-4 overall and 2-2 in the TIC.
