SUNBURY – Melvin Vance Bright, 83, of Hwy 158 East, Sunbury, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 in his home where he was surrounded by his family. He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars, serving in the Navy and the Coast Guard. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2015 in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, who is handling the arrangements. Military honors will be accorded on the lawn of the funeral home.  A private burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Elizabeth City.
