AULANDER – Mr. Thomas Jefferson Pierce, age 94, of Aulander, NC, died Sunday, August 10, 2014 at his home.

Mr. Pierce was born February 6, 1920 in Norfolk, VA, the son of the late Nathan Pierce and Sarah Jane Mansfield Pierce. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Della Terry Pierce.

He is survived by his daughters, Sandra Pierce Askew and her husband Wilbur of Ahoskie, NC, and Judy Pierce Garrett and her husband Ray of Aulander, NC; two sisters, Margie Dozier of Chesapeake, VA, and Dorothy Evans of Ahoskie, NC; his step brother, James Lassiter of Aulander, NC; five grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Higher Ground Pentecostal Holiness Church in Ahoskie, NC with the Rev. Ray Faircloth Sr. officiating.  Burial will follow at Job Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 12, 2014 from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. at Massey Funeral Home in Aulander, NC.
