Daniel Askew, 100, a native of Bertie County, died October 10, 2008 at his residence.
Askew was a member of New Piney Wood Chapel Baptist Church. He was retired from the NY Railroad.
Survivors include one brother, David Askew of Aulander; and three sisters, Marva Duffy Hall of Ahoskie, Gloria Hoggard of Hampton, Va. and Thelma Holley of Ahoskie.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at New Piney Wood Chapel Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Burden family cemetery. Hunter’s Funeral Home is in charge.
