Bertha Mae Stallings, 89, of Virginia Road, died Thursday, April 9, 2009 in Down East Health & Rehab, Gatesville.
A native of Gates County, she was a member of Warwick Baptist Church and its Adult Ladies Sunday School Class. She had worked as a nursing assistant at Chowan Hospital and had also been a private duty nurse for the homebound. She is survived by four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a brother, Louis Stallings of Belvidere.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 11 in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, by the Revs. Gene Asbill and Aaron Pendley. Burial will follow in the Stallings Family Cemetery.
