BISCOE, NC – Marion Stephenson Bridgers, 98, of 143 Martin Road, formerly of Jackson, died Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at Autumn Care of Biscoe.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 25, 2012, at Jackson Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Johnson, the Rev. Billy Howell, and the Rev. Warren Heitzenrater officiating. Interment will be in Jackson Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1-1:45 p.m. at the church.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 16, 2012 at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Candor with the Rev. Michael Free officiating.

Mrs. Bridgers was born in Jackson to Whit and Susannah Martin Stephenson. She was a loving mother and friend to all; a member of the Eastern Star Emera 119 and Star 111 Chapter; and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Bridgers, and daughter, Margaret Lynn Bridgers.

Surviving are her children, Whit S. Bridgers of Jackson, Susan B. Walton of Elon, Dean and Joe Dawkins of Biscoe, Tom and Betty Bridgers of Rich Square; grandchildren, Jay Walton (Robin) of Wilson, Heather Walton Shuman of Palisade, CO, Cassie Bridgers Burt (Travis) of Greenville, Stephanie Walton Sells of Burlington, Whit Bridgers, II, Marion Garner of Mt. Gilead, Ian Garner of Greensboro; 18 great-grandchildren; four nephews; four nieces; numerous dearly loved friends and extended family.
